Volunteers reach 80
During the relatively short life of the GHoPA organisation, GHoPA has harnessed the skills and sessional / delivery support of over 80 volunteers.
Many have moved on to full / part time paid work with some gaining accreditation becoming fully qualified coaches that the programme now uses.
Recently employed GHoPA apprentice Sean Snelson, the volunteer co-ordinator for the project says “without their valuable input and support, the project would not be able to provide the wide range of services to our users”.
GHoPA was the very first VCS (Voluntary Community Sector) “not for profit” organisation to receive the 2 star SVA (Supporting Volunteers Award) through VANEL the local volunteering agency.
